Margaret MacKay, accompanist
Margaret Hicks MacKay is a native of Iva, SC, where she became organist of her home church, Good Hope Presbyterian, at the age of 13 and served there until her junior year of college.
She holds degrees in organ performance from Anderson College (now University); Furman University, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She did further study at Converse College.
She has served churches in Iva, SC; Greenville, SC; Belton, SC; and Louisville, KY as well as the following churches in Anderson, SC:
St. John’s United Methodist, Organist/Choir Director, 1981-1987
Boulevard Baptist, Organist/Music Associate, 1987-1992
First Presbyterian Organist/Director of Music 1992-2010
She currently serves as part-time Director of Music for Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC.
Margaret is married to Raymond MacKay. They have 5 grown children, love to travel and entertain.
She has served as accompanist for the adult Festival by the Sea for several years. “It’s one of my FAVORITE things to do.
